Free Lifetime Sharpening

Every BSP KnifeWorks knife includes free sharpening for life.

A good knife is made to be used, and every edge eventually needs attention. When your BSP knife gets to the point where it needs more than a quick touch-up at home, send it back to the workshop or arrange to bring it in.

I’ll sharpen it properly and get it cutting the way it should again.

What’s Included

Free lifetime sharpening includes:

  • Edge inspection

  • Professional resharpening

  • Minor edge correction where practical

  • General check-over of the knife

  • Advice if I notice anything else that needs attention

If the knife needs more substantial repair work, I’ll contact you before doing anything further.

How It Works

Bring It In

If you’re local to the Gold Coast, you’re welcome to arrange a time to bring your knife to the BSP KnifeWorks workshop.

Please contact me first so we can organise a suitable time.

Send It In

If you’re posting your knife, contact me first and I’ll provide the details for sending it to the workshop.

You cover the cost of postage to and from BSP KnifeWorks.

The easiest option is to include a prepaid Australia Post satchel with your knife for the return journey.

Please pack the knife securely and safely for transport.

How Often Can I Use It?

There is no set limit.

If your BSP knife genuinely needs sharpening, send it in.

The service is there to keep your knife working properly for years to come, not to make you feel like you need to save it for some special occasion.

Use the knife. Let it earn its keep.

What Isn’t Included?

Free lifetime sharpening covers normal edge maintenance.

It does not automatically cover:

  • Major blade repairs

  • Broken tips

  • Significant chips caused by misuse

  • Damage caused by prying, twisting or impact

  • Handle replacement

  • Full refinishing or restoration

  • Corrosion caused by neglect

That doesn’t mean I can’t help.

If your knife needs repair or refurbishment, send me a few photos and I’ll let you know what can be done. If there is a cost involved, I’ll explain it before carrying out the work.

What About Knives Bought Second-Hand or Given as Gifts?

If it’s a genuine BSP KnifeWorks knife, the sharpening service stays with the knife.

It doesn’t matter whether you bought it yourself, received it as a gift or acquired it from someone else.

Looking After Your Knife Between Sharpenings

You shouldn’t need to send your knife back every time the edge loses a little bite.

Regular light maintenance at home will keep it performing well between workshop sharpenings.

Depending on the knife, this may include:

  • Using a strop

  • Light honing where appropriate

  • Keeping the blade clean and dry

  • Oiling carbon steel when necessary

  • Avoiding dishwashers

  • Using the knife only for the work it was designed to do

If you’re ever unsure how to maintain your knife, just ask.

Made to Be Used

BSP KnifeWorks knives aren’t made to sit untouched in a drawer.

Use them.

Put them to work.

And when the edge eventually needs some proper attention, bring it back to the bloke who made it.
