A nakiri that announces itself before it leaves the block. The blade is forged from Obsteel San Mai, an 80CrV2 core clad in nickel and 1020, and it's the nickel layer that creates that jagged white line running the length of the blade. Not etched, not applied, it's the steel itself, revealed through the grind. The 80CrV2 core is a high-performance carbon steel that takes an exceptional edge and holds it through serious kitchen work. The cladding protects, the core cuts.
The handle is green dyed and stabilised spalted tamarind, the lime green dye pulls the eye straight to the nickel line in the blade, tying the whole knife together. A bog oak bolster grounds it, adding depth and contrast where the handle meets the steel. This is a knife that earns its place as much on the wall as in the kitchen.
